We are currently growing on approximately 75 acres at our Chepachet location. We are growing a variety of shade trees and flowering ornamentals from 2” to 8” caliper as well as evergreens like Fir, Spruce, Pine, Arborvitae and Juniper up to 12’. We also grow some specimen ornamentals such as Weeping Alaskan Cedar, Weeping White Pine, large Mugho Pine and Birdsnest Spruce and other items that are occasionally not listed in our catalog (please call). We are always trying new things and have been lining out many new varieties for the future.

Central Nurseries employs many skilled workers and uses the latest equipment and technology to cultivate and harvest our trees. We use Optimal tree spades on all of our material with the ability to dig 20” to 70” diameter root balls. Trees dug with our Optimal tree spades have a wider and shallower ball than most conventionally harvested trees; because the balls are wider we get more root mass where it counts (near the surface) and less soil in the bottom of the basket (less weight to handle). We think this all equates to one thing, a healthier more viable product with less problems establishing in the landscape.
